Hi there!

Following a couple of comments over at the NaNoWriMo Chick Lit Board, this little place has been created to help those of us who wish to write the other eleven months of the year, too!

Ignore the state of the place - I'll be prettying the place up ASAP. In the meantime please come on in and make yourselves comfortable. I'd love you see you here!

Hi! <kof-kof...is this thing on...?> Wink

but seriously folks...

it's me again, DMac, just checking in on this exciting new forum to see if posting would work and it does! too bad I have nothing new to say.

I'm here because I love the idea of a forum devoted to chick-lit authors.

When I started planning for NaNo this year (about a week before it started Wink ), I realized that the story I had in mind fit the increasingly-broad category of chick-lit.

As I raced to the 50K word count finish line, I also realized that I was trying to stuff at least 3 different stories into my one NaNo novel. Maybe 4. Wink And I want to write them all.

So I'm hoping this forum will be useful and inspiring and I can keep up the momentum started during November. Looking forward to chatting with you all as we keep writing!

Deb Mc.

That's a great introduction, Deb. Smile

For me, it's companionship. I've always felt a little of a misfit in my circle of friends, and am never comfortable talking about my writing. It's such a personal outlet and you put so much of yourself out there, it's impossible to think of sharing it with my friends and family . . . Hmm, it probably comes as no surprise that I use a pen-name!

I've never been very good at NaNoWriMo as I work full-time (and travel a lot with work) and have a four-year-old, so my free time's pretty limited. It tends to come out when I've reached saturation point! But the thought of being surrounded by similarly minded people with the same hopes is incredibly comforting. Here's to teamwork and support!

Hello Ladies! I am so glad we started this forum. I have always longed for a community of writers.... this was a privilege I enjoyed in college, which I have missed. Often, I have felt that while family and friends can support me, they don't really understand...

This year marks my first NaNo, and I am so thrilled that I reached my 50K goal in November. I don't know if my book is good enough, or will be, for publication, but I am going to hammer it out and see.

I can't wait to see what we all achieve this month!

*strikes a pose* I'm here now and you cant get rid of me. And just like DMac, the idea of a forum devoted to chick-litters was too sparkly for me to resist. So, as I said, I'm here and you really can't get rid of me.

I'm one of those writers whose parents are like "Why are you still writing that stuff?? Go study instead!!" so I think I can understand many of those who get hardly any support in real life Rolling Eyes

I'm a first-time NaNoer too and managed to reach about 60K, and like some others, I'm going to start offering my finished mastah-piece to agents as soo as I finish it... Razz When I began my NaNo I had planned for it to be a historical. But then it became a modern day chick lit *sweatdrop*

So, since I LOVE writing chick lits, it's great to discuss it with other people who happen to have a passion for it.

and as you notice, my second love is talking about myself...
